God Sees, God Hears, God Delivers

The righteous crying out for help
“The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and His ears toward their cry for help.” — Psalm 34:15

One of the great comforts of Scripture is that God is not distant. He sees. He hears. He knows. But more than that—He cares, and He acts. Psalm 34:15 reminds us that “the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and His ears toward their cry for help.” This verse speaks volumes about the nature of God’s relationship with His people.

The righteous in this context are not those who are morally perfect, but those who seek God and pursue peace. These are the people who orient their lives toward Him, desiring what is good and true. And what does this verse say about them? God’s eyes are on them. His ears are open to them. That means they have His full attention—His intimate, loving awareness.

But notice something important: the righteous are still crying out for help. God does not always prevent trouble from entering their lives. Being seen and heard by God does not exempt us from suffering. And yet, that suffering is not the end of the story. God delivers the righteous. He walks with them through the valley. He answers their cries—not always by removing the pain immediately, but by bringing them through it with victory on the other side.

This is a profound truth that speaks directly against the idea that a good life is a trouble-free life. Instead, the righteous life is one lived in relationship with a faithful God who hears, sees, and saves. Our hope is not in the absence of difficulty, but in the presence of a God who is committed to our ultimate good.

For those who seek God and His peace, you are not alone. Your cries are not unheard. The Lord is near—and His nearness is your deliverance.
